Paragraph 1: The sentence enforcement judge.

For the operation of his chambers, the sentence enforcement judge is provided with a secretariat-registrar in accordance with the provisions of Article 712-2. The duties of secretary and clerk to the sentence enforcement judge are performed by a clerk of the judicial court.

Where the number of enforcement judges and the size of the caseload justifies it, a joint enforcement secretariat may be set up, the staff of which includes, in addition to administrative staff, a registrar separate from that of the enforcement judges’ chambers. This secretariat may also be made up of enforcement officers and clerks mentioned in Article D. 48-1 and exercise powers in common with those of the latter.

Where there are several enforcement judges in a judicial court, the president shall designate, after consulting the general assembly of sitting magistrates, the enforcement judge who shall exercise the powers mentioned in articles D. 576 to D. 578 of this code and D. 113-64 of the Penitentiary Code.
