In granting the authorisation referred to in article R. 1312-1, the competent authority shall take into account the officer’s assignment, level of training or experience with regard to the requirements for carrying out judicial police duties.

Authorised and sworn agents exercise their prerogatives within the territorial limits of their assignment.

In the event of a change of assignment outside the territorial jurisdiction of the authorising authority, the authorisation lapses. A new authorisation may, if necessary, be issued under the conditions set out in articles R. 1312-2 to R. 1312-4.
