The State diploma in operating theatre nursing is awarded by universities under the conditions defined in articles D. 636-82 to D. 636-84 of the Education Code.
The State diploma of nurse anaesthetist is awarded by the regional prefect to holders of the State diploma of nurse or of another qualification enabling them to practise this profession or to holders of the State diploma of midwife or of another qualification enabling them to practise this profession who, after passing the admission tests, have attended and validated the theoretical and practical courses as well as the work placements…
Nurses who hold the certificate of aptitude for the duties of anaesthetist assistant created by the decree of 9 April 1960 or who hold the State diploma of nurse anaesthetist may use the title of State-qualified nurse anaesthetist, to the exclusion of any other designation.
The duration of the preparatory studies for the award of the State diploma of nurse anaesthetist is two years. The following are set by order of the Minister of Health: 1° The conditions for student admission ; 2° The programme and organisation of studies ; 3° The procedures for granting exemptions from study requirements; 4° The procedures for validating courses and placements with a view to awarding the State diploma.
The diplôme d’Etat de puéricultrice is awarded by the préfet de région to holders of a nursing or midwifery diploma validated for the practice of the profession in France, who have passed the competitive entrance examination, followed a training course and validated the theoretical and practical teaching as well as the work placements that make up the training.
The following are set by order of the Minister for Health: 1° The conditions for student admission ; 2° The duration of studies, the training programme and the organisation of teaching; 3° The procedures for granting exemptions from teaching requirements; 4° The procedures for validating courses and placements with a view to awarding the State diploma.
The conditions under which a certificate of studies is issued in place of the State diploma in childcare to holders of a foreign diploma in nursing or midwifery that does not authorise them to practise in France are set by order of the Minister for Health.
