Section 1: Tasks and general provisions

I.-In application of article L. 114-1, the sports resource, expertise and performance centres are local public training establishments in the fields of sport, youth and popular education. They carry out, on behalf of the State, and may carry out, on behalf of the region, the missions defined in articles L. 114-2 and L. 114-3 respectively. The contract and agreement mentioned in II and III of article L. 114-16 may be the subject of a single tripartite contract between the State and the region, on the one hand, and the sports resources, expertise and performance centre, on the other.

The region may give the sports resources, expertise and performance centre attached to it a mandate to delegate the contracting authority to carry out, within the centre, construction, reconstruction, major repair or extension work on the real estate assets for which it is responsible under the conditions defined in articles L. 114-5 and L. 114-7 of this code.
