Section 1: General provisions

A foreign national placed under house arrest pursuant to this Title shall report periodically to the police or gendarmerie units.He shall also report, when requested to do so by the administrative authority, to the consular authorities, with a view to the issue of a travel document.

The administrative authority may, for the purposes of preparing the foreign national’s departure, designate to him or her, taking into account the imperatives of private and family life, a time slot during which he or she remains in the premises where he or she resides, up to a limit of three consecutive hours per twenty-four hour period.When the foreign national assigned to residence is the subject of a deportation order,…

If the foreign national poses a particularly serious threat to public order, the administrative authority may have him or her taken by police services or gendarmerie units to the places of assignment.

The administrative authority may require the foreign national under house arrest to surrender his passport or any document proving his identity, under the conditions laid down in article L. 814-1.

The detailed rules for the application of articles L. 733-1 to L. 733-4 are set by decree in the Conseil d’Etat.
