Article L722-12 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

In the event of a foreign national’s transit through a French airport with a view to being transported to the country of destination in execution of a removal order issued by a Member State of the European Union, the Republic of Iceland, the Principality of Liechtenstein, the Kingdom of Norway or the Swiss Confederation, the escort is placed under the authority of the Minister of the Interior.
