Selective financial aid is awarded to production companies to support the production of audiovisual works belonging to the music video genre intended for public distribution in France, which have artistic and technical qualities, while promoting creative diversity.
To be eligible for financial support, music videos must be produced by delegated production companies that hold the intellectual property rights for at least two distinct modes of exploitation, at least for the territory of the European Union and for a minimum period of three years.
I. – Music videos must be produced with the assistance of:1° Authors and technical creative collaborators who are French nationals or assimilated;2° Technical industries established in France or on the territory of European States.II. – For the application of I, the following number of points is allocated to each production element: – director: two points;– chief cameraman: one point;– chief editor: one point;– chief set designer: one point;– 50% of…
A minimum of ten days’ work is required for music videos, covering all of the following positions: director, cinematographer, editor, colourist, animator, graphic designer and set designer, including a minimum of four days for the director.
To receive aid, the application must be submitted before the shooting begins.
The decision to award a grant is taken on the advice of the Commission des aides aux vidéomusiques.
The cost of producing the pre-existing musical composition is not taken into account when determining the amount of aid.
The aid is paid as follows: – 75% at the time of the award decision;– 25% after presentation, no later than one year after the award decision, of the supporting documents mentioned on the list annexed to this book.
