Article 123-7 of the French Cinema and Moving Image Code

The transfer by the holder of an automatic cinema exhibition account of the sums entered in this account to the holder of another automatic cinema exhibition account is only authorised in the event of definitive cessation of activity.
However, exemptions may be granted by the President of the Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée after consultation with the Commission des aides sélectives à l’exploitation, when the sums whose transfer is envisaged contribute to the financing of operations to create new cinematographic entertainment establishments or, in the case of existing establishments, operations to modernise or create new cinemas.

Article 123-7

Le transfert par le titulaire d’un compte automatique exploitation cinéma des sommes inscrites sur ce compte au profit du titulaire d’un autre compte automatique exploitation cinéma n’est autorisé qu’en cas de cessation définitive d’activité.
Toutefois, des dérogations peuvent être accordées par le président du Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée après consultation de la commission des aides sélectives à l’exploitation, lorsque les sommes dont le transfert est envisagé contribuent au financement d’opérations de création de nouveaux établissements de spectacles cinématographiques ou, s’agissant d’établissements existants, d’opérations de modernisation ou de création de nouvelles salles.
