Article 657 of the French Code of civil procedure

Where the document is not delivered personally, the bailiff shall state on the copy the conditions under which delivery was made.

The copy of the document served must be placed in a sealed envelope bearing only the name and address of the addressee of the document and the bailiff’s stamp affixed to the seal of the envelope.

Lorsque l’acte n’est pas délivré à personne, l’huissier de justice mentionne sur la copie les conditions dans lesquelles la remise a été effectuée.

La copie de l’acte signifié doit être placée sous enveloppe fermée ne portant que l’indication des nom et adresse du destinataire de l’acte et le cachet de l’huissier apposé sur la fermeture du pli.
