Candidates for the specific part of the brevet d’Etat d’éducateur sportif du premier degré must pass a general test, an educational test and a technical test, with the exception of candidates who hold a licence de sciences et techniques des activités physiques et sportives (STAPS) mention “entraînement sportif”, who are exempt from the general test and the educational test.
For options with multiple sports specialities, a choice from one or more specialities may be provided for.
A general test (coefficient 4) comprising:
– a written exam on the technical aspects of the sport concerned (marked out of 20; duration: three hours; coefficient 2);
– an oral exam on the socio-economic and legal environment of the sport or sports concerned by the sports option mentioned in article D. 212-70, (marked out of 20; preparation: thirty minutes maximum; presentation: thirty minutes maximum; coefficient 2).
An educational test (coefficient 4) comprising:
– the presentation and running of one or more sessions relating to the sports option concerned (coefficient 3). Candidates have a maximum of one hour’s preparation time, which includes a written presentation of the session. They are judged on their choice of teaching aids, teaching methods and teaching attitudes;
– an interview with the panel for the teaching test (coefficient 1). The interview conducted by the jury must enable the candidate to justify his/her teaching approach and to carry out a critical analysis of the session(s) carried out.
A technical test (coefficient 4) comprising:
– a test involving the performance of one or more physical exercises relating to the chosen sports option (marked out of 20; coefficient 3).
For certain specialities, special provisions set out in the decrees taken in application of article D. 212-72 may require that the test be taken in accordance with the rules for the acquisition of a ranking or grade relating to a level of practice attested by the delegated sports federation concerned by the sports option mentioned in article D. 212-70.
However, the candidate may be exempted from the technical test if he or she provides a certificate of performance achieved under the conditions laid down by the order issued in application of article D. 212-72. In this case, the candidate is awarded a mark in accordance with the provisions defined by the decree establishing the programme for the specific part of the option concerned;
– an oral on the technical regulations of each delegated sports federation concerned by the sports option mentioned in article D. 212-70 (marked out of 20; preparation: thirty minutes maximum; presentation: thirty minutes maximum; coefficient 1).
