Article A212-125 of the French Sports Code

Candidates for the specific part of the second-degree state diploma in sports education must pass a general test, a pedagogical test and a technical test.
A general test (coefficient 3) comprising:
– a written test covering all aspects of high-level practice in the sports option concerned (marked out of 20; duration: three hours; coefficient 2);
– an oral test covering the organisation and national and international regulations of the sports option concerned (marked out of 20; preparation: thirty minutes; presentation: thirty minutes; coefficient 1).
An educational test (coefficient 4) comprising:
– the presentation and running of one or more improvement and/or training sessions (coefficient 3).
These sessions concern the sports option in question and are aimed at instructors and/or participants. Candidates have a maximum of one hour’s preparation time, allowing them to make a written presentation of each session. He/she will be judged on the text presenting the technical and teaching content as well as on the conduct of the sessions;
– an interview with the jury (duration: thirty minutes; coefficient 1).
This is based on the preparation and presentation of a report on the organisation and design of a regional management training course or cycle of courses. This report is an account of a course that the candidate actually ran or was involved in during the three years preceding the examination. Audiovisual means may be used.
A technical test (coefficient 2): This test involves performing one or more technical difficulties relating to the chosen sporting option.
For certain specialities, special provisions contained in the decrees taken in application of article D. 212-72 may require that the test be taken in accordance with the rules for the acquisition of a ranking or grade relating to a level of practice attested by the delegated sports federation concerned by the sports option mentioned in article D. 212-70.
However, the candidate may be exempted from the technical test if he or she provides a certificate, signed by the national technical director, attesting that he or she has already completed these difficulties under the conditions set out in the order issued in application of article D. 212-72 relating to the organisation and conditions for the preparation and award of the brevet d’Etat d’éducateur sportif. In this case, the candidate is awarded a mark in accordance with the scale published in the decree defining the programme for the specific part of the sports option concerned.
If this is the same test as the one taken in the first-degree State Sports Educator Certificate examination, the candidate may retain the benefit of the performance taken into account in the first-degree State Sports Educator Certificate examination.

Le candidat à la partie spécifique du brevet d’Etat d’éducateur sportif du deuxième degré doit satisfaire à une épreuve générale, une épreuve pédagogique et une épreuve technique.
Une épreuve générale (coefficient 3) comprenant :
― un écrit portant sur l’ensemble des dimensions de la pratique de haut niveau de l’option sportive concernée (noté sur 20 ; durée : trois heures ; coefficient 2) ;
― un oral portant sur l’organisation et la réglementation nationale et internationale de l’option sportive concernée (noté sur 20 ; préparation : trente minutes ; exposé : trente minutes ; coefficient 1).
Une épreuve pédagogique (coefficient 4) comprenant :
― la présentation et la conduite d’une ou plusieurs séances de perfectionnement et / ou d’entraînement (coefficient 3).
Ces séances portent sur la pratique de l’option sportive concernée et s’adressent à des éducateurs et / ou à des pratiquants. Le candidat bénéficie d’un temps de préparation d’une heure maximum, lui permettant notamment de faire une présentation écrite de chaque séance. Il est jugé sur le texte de présentation du contenu technique et pédagogique ainsi que sur la conduite des séances ;
― un entretien avec le jury (durée : trente minutes ; coefficient 1).
Celui-ci porte sur la préparation et la présentation d’un rapport sur l’organisation et la conception d’un stage ou d’un cycle de stages de formation de cadres régionaux. Ce rapport est le compte rendu d’un stage que le candidat a réellement dirigé ou auquel il a été associé dans les trois ans précédant l’examen. Des moyens audiovisuels peuvent être utilisés.
Une épreuve technique (coefficient 2) : Cette épreuve comporte la réalisation d’une ou de plusieurs difficultés techniques relatives à l’option sportive choisie.
Pour certaines spécialités, des dispositions particulières figurant dans les arrêtés pris en application de l’article D. 212-72 peuvent permettre d’exiger que l’épreuve soit subie selon les règles d’acquisition d’un classement ou d’un grade se rapportant à un niveau de pratique attesté par la fédération sportive délégataire concernée par l’option sportive mentionnée à l’article D. 212-70.
Toutefois, le candidat peut être dispensé de l’épreuve technique s’il fournit un certificat, signé par le directeur technique national, attestant qu’il a déjà satisfait à l’exécution de ces difficultés dans les conditions prévues par l’arrêté pris en application de l’article D. 212-72 relatif à l’organisation et aux conditions de préparation et de délivrance du brevet d’Etat d’éducateur sportif. Dans ce cas, le candidat se voit attribuer une note conformément au barème publié dans l’arrêté définissant le programme de la partie spécifique de l’option sportive concernée.
S’il s’agit de la même épreuve que celle subie à l’examen du brevet d’Etat d’éducateur sportif du premier degré, le candidat peut conserver le bénéfice de la performance prise en compte lors de l’examen du premier degré du brevet d’Etat d’éducateur sportif.
