Article A212-198 of the French Sports Code

If the Prefect considers that there is no substantial difference, or if a substantial difference has been identified and the applicant has passed the aptitude test, the Prefect will issue the applicant with a sports educator’s professional card or a receipt for a declaration of provision of services which, depending on the diploma in question, mentions the following conditions of practice:

-for the BP JEPS “underwater diving” qualification: “Independent supervision of underwater excursions, teaching and supervision of underwater diving under the technical and safety conditions defined in articles A. 322-71 et seq. of the French Sports Code”;

-for the “underwater diving activities” option of the DE JEPS: “Teaching, leading, supervising underwater diving or training its practitioners under the technical and safety conditions defined in articles A. 322-71 et seq. of the French Sports Code. “

Dans le cas où le préfet estime qu’il n’existe pas de différence substantielle ou lorsqu’une différence substantielle a été identifiée et que le déclarant a satisfait à l’épreuve d’aptitude, le préfet délivre au déclarant une carte professionnelle d’éducateur sportif ou un récépissé de déclaration de prestation de services qui, selon le diplôme visé, portent mention des conditions d’exercice suivantes :

-pour la mention “ plongée subaquatique ” du BP JEPS : “ Encadrement en autonomie de la randonnée subaquatique, enseignement et encadrement de la plongée subaquatique dans les conditions techniques et de sécurité définies aux articles A. 322-71 et suivants du code du sport ” ;

-pour la mention “ activités de plongée subaquatique ” du DE JEPS : “ Enseignement, animation, encadrement de la plongée subaquatique ou entraînement de ses pratiquants dans les conditions techniques et de sécurité définies aux articles A. 322-71 et suivants du code du sport. ”
