Article A37-8 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

The characteristics of the payment card referred to in Article A. 37-1 are as follows:

I.-On the front, on the left-hand side, are details of the issuing department, the date of the offence, the amount of the fine to be paid and, where applicable, the vehicle registration number.

It is also mentioned that payment of the fixed fine entails recognition of the reality of the offence and a reduction in the number of driving licence points.

II.-The right-hand side includes the place where the part of the fine stamp to be sent can be affixed in the event of non-payment by cheque, and the indication of the recipient of the payment card.

III.-The reverse side shows the payment methods and the possibility of making a request, with an indication of the authority competent to receive the complaint. There is also a space for information about the person making the request for exemption.

IV.-This section also indicates the consequences of non-payment and failure to submit a request for exoneration within the specified time limits.

V.-In accordance with the provisions of Article R. 49-3-1, this flap may also include a statement specifying that payment of the fixed fine may be made by automated remote payment or by dematerialised stamp, and indicating that the offender has an additional period of fifteen days to pay this fine if he uses this method of payment.

Les caractéristiques de la carte de paiement mentionnée à l’article A. 37-1 sont les suivantes :

I.-Au recto, sur la partie gauche, figurent les informations relatives au service verbalisateur, à la date de l’infraction, au montant de l’amende à payer et, le cas échéant, le numéro d’immatriculation du véhicule.

Il est également mentionné que le paiement de l’amende forfaitaire entraîne reconnaissance de la réalité de l’infraction et réduction du nombre de points du permis de conduire.

II.-La partie droite comporte l’emplacement où peut être apposée la partie à envoyer du timbre-amende en cas de non-paiement par chèque, et l’indication du destinataire de la carte de paiement.

III.-Au verso sont mentionnées les modalités de paiement ainsi que les possibilités de requête avec l’indication de l’autorité compétente pour recevoir la réclamation. Il est en outre prévu un emplacement où sont portées des informations relatives à l’auteur de la requête en exonération.

IV.-Sur ce volet sont également indiquées les conséquences du défaut de paiement et de l’absence de requête en exonération dans les délais impartis.

V.-Conformément aux dispositions de l’article R. 49-3-1, ce volet peut également comporter une mention précisant que le paiement de l’amende forfaitaire peut être réalisé par télépaiement automatisé ou par timbre dématérialisé, et indiquant que le contrevenant dispose d’un délai supplémentaire de quinze jours pour s’acquitter de cette amende s’il utilise ce mode de paiement.
