Article A432-4 of the French Insurance Code

In the event of the occurrence of one of the political, catastrophic or transfer risks covered by the policy, the corresponding indemnity shall, insofar as the claim remains outstanding, be paid to the insured six months after receipt by the organisation mentioned in article L. 432-2 of a registered letter or electronic registered letter informing it of the claim.

However, in exceptional circumstances, subject to the agreement of the Commission des garanties et du crédit au commerce extérieur, the aforementioned organisation may pay the indemnity as soon as it receives notification of the claim.

Article A432-4

En cas de réalisation de l’un des risques politiques, catastrophiques, ou de transfert couverts par la police, l’indemnité correspondante est, dans la mesure où le sinistre subsiste, versée à l’assuré six mois après réception par l’organisme mentionné à l’article L. 432-2 d’une lettre recommandée ou d’un envoi recommandé électronique l’informant de ce sinistre.

Toutefois, ledit organisme a la faculté, à titre exceptionnel, sous réserve de l’accord de la commission des garanties et du crédit au commerce extérieur, de régler l’indemnité dès réception de la déclaration du sinistre.
