Article D2171-10 of the French Public procurement code

The purpose of project studies is to :
1° To specify, by means of plans, sections and elevations, the shapes of the various elements of the construction, the nature and characteristics of the materials and the conditions under which they are to be used;
2° To determine the layout and footprint of all structural elements and technical equipment;
3° Specify the routes for the supply and removal of all fluids;
4° Provide the client with information enabling him to estimate the operating costs of the work;
5° Participate in checking that the elements of the project and the services are consistent with the general economics of the overall contract.

Les études de projet ont pour objet de :
1° Préciser par des plans, coupes et élévations, les formes des différents éléments de la construction, la nature et les caractéristiques des matériaux et les conditions de leur mise en œuvre ;
2° Déterminer l’implantation et l’encombrement de tous les éléments de structure et de tous les équipements techniques ;
3° Préciser les tracés des alimentations et évacuations de tous les fluides ;
4° Transmettre au maître d’ouvrage les éléments lui permettant d’estimer les coûts d’exploitation de l’ouvrage ;
5° Participer à la vérification de la cohérence des éléments du projet et des prestations avec l’économie générale du marché global.
