Article D3142-56 of the French Labour Code

In the absence of an agreement or convention mentioned in article L. 3142-73, the employee shall inform the employer by any means capable of providing a date certain, at least thirty days or 48 hours in the event of an emergency before the start of the international solidarity leave, of his wish to take advantage of this leave.
It must specify the duration of the planned absence and the name of the association on whose behalf the mission will be carried out.

A défaut de convention ou d’accord mentionné à l’article L. 3142-73, le salarié informe l’employeur par tout moyen permettant de conférer date certaine, au moins trente jours ou 48 heures en cas d’urgence avant le début du congé de solidarité internationale l’informant de sa volonté de bénéficier de ce congé.
Il précise la durée de l’absence envisagée et le nom de l’association pour le compte de laquelle la mission sera accomplie.
