Article D332-2 of the French Tourism Code

Operators wishing to obtain classification must submit their application electronically to the body mentioned in article L. 141-2 , together with an inspection certificate issued by a type A or C assessment body accredited to inspect campsites and caravan parks by the French Accreditation Committee (COFRAC) or any equivalent European body in accordance with article L. 321-1. This application specifies the total number of pitches and, where applicable, for campsites classified in one of the categories designated by an increasing number of stars, their breakdown according to their “tourism” or “leisure” rental type within the meaning of article D. 332-1-1.

An order by the Minister for Tourism specifies the procedure to be followed and the format of the application file.

Article D332-2

L’exploitant qui souhaite obtenir le classement transmet par voie électronique à l’organisme mentionné à l’article L. 141-2 sa demande accompagnée du certificat de visite délivré par un organisme évaluateur de type A ou C accrédité pour le contrôle des terrains de camping et de caravanage par le Comité français d’accréditation (COFRAC) ou tout organisme européen équivalent conformément à l’article L. 321-1. Cette demande précise le nombre total d’emplacements et, le cas échéant, pour les terrains de camping classés dans une des catégories désignées par un nombre d’étoiles croissant, leur répartition suivant leur mode de location ” tourisme ” ou ” loisirs ” au sens de l’article D. 332-1-1.

Un arrêté du ministre chargé du tourisme précise la procédure à suivre et le format du dossier de demande.
