I.-The medical staff required for surgical activity includes:
1° Doctors specialising in surgery, whose speciality is adapted to the specific therapeutic practices mentioned in II of article R. 6123-202 and implemented by the holder of the authorisation for surgical care activity;
2° Doctors specialising in anaesthesia and intensive care.
A doctor is appointed to coordinate the unit mentioned in article D. 6124-282.
II.-The non-medical staff required for surgical activities include :
1° State-qualified nurses and, where necessary, state-qualified operating theatre nurses, and possibly a state-qualified anaesthetist nurse;
2° Depending on the surgical activity performed and the medical needs of patients, other medical auxiliaries and paramedical staff whose qualifications are appropriate for this surgical activity;
The holder of the authorisation for surgical care activity may also call on any professional whose qualifications are appropriate for this surgical activity.
The number of such staff is adapted to the volume of activity, in particular the number of medical staff mentioned in 1° and 2° of I, present on the site.
III – The holder of the authorisation for surgical care activities must ensure, where appropriate, the assistance of a medical physicist as part of the process of optimising exposure to ionising radiation.
