Article D6124-479 of the French Public Health Code

In all establishments, ventilation must be permanent and continuous so as to function in all seasons without causing discomfort to patients.

Central heating is required in all establishments. The temperature of hospitalised patients’ rooms must never be lower than 18 degrees.

Electric lighting must be provided so that the lights can be switched off at night.

Dans tout établissement, l’aération doit être permanente et continue de manière à fonctionner en toutes saisons sans occasionner de gêne aux malades.

Le chauffage central est exigé dans tout établissement. La température des chambres des personnes hospitalisées ne doit jamais être inférieure à 18 degrés.

L’éclairage électrique permet la mise en veilleuse pendant la nuit.
