With a view to fulfilling its missions, the Agency may refer any matter to itself. Matters may be referred to it by the competent State authority, the Parliamentary Office for the Evaluation of Scientific and Technological Choices, other State public establishments and the bodies represented on its Board of Directors.
It may also be approached by consumer protection associations approved under article L. 811-1 of the Consumer Code, by environmental protection associations approved under article L. 141-1 of the Environmental Code, by associations active in the field of health quality and patient care approved under article L. 1114-1, by associations providing assistance to victims of accidents at work or occupational illnesses represented on the Board of Directors of the Fonds d’indemnisation des victimes de l’amiante (Asbestos Victims Compensation Fund) and, after receiving a favourable opinion from the Minister for Agriculture, by health networks recognised under article L. 201-10 of the Code rural et de la pêche maritime (Rural and Maritime Fishing Code).
Subject to respect for secrets protected by law, and in particular information covered by business secrecy, the Agency’s opinions and recommendations are made public.
