Article L1531-2 of the French Labour Code

The employment contract of the employees mentioned in article L. 1531-1 shall be in writing.

It shall set out the terms and conditions under which the employee shall be compensated for expenses incurred in travelling to, staying in and returning from the country or place of employment. It also provides for the employer to cover the expenses incurred by the employee and, where applicable, his family in taking leave, provided that the employee has been on leave for at least twelve months.

The employment contract is given to the employee, unless this is impossible, no later than eight days before the date of departure to the place of work.

Le contrat de travail des salariés mentionnés à l’article L. 1531-1 est écrit.

Il prévoit les modalités selon lesquelles le salarié est indemnisé des dépenses auxquelles l’exposent sa venue, son séjour dans le pays ou lieu de son emploi et son retour à sa résidence habituelle. Il prévoit également la prise en charge par l’employeur des frais occasionnés au salarié et, le cas échéant, à sa famille par sa prise de congé dès lors que l’intéressé a exercé son activité pendant au moins douze mois.

Le contrat de travail est remis au salarié, sauf impossibilité majeure, au plus tard huit jours avant la date de son départ vers son lieu de travail.
