Article L161-3 of the French Tourism Code

In the overseas regions and departments, the Regional Council and the General Council may by agreement create a single body to exercise the powers devolved to the Regional Tourism Committees and the Departmental Tourism Committees.

Failing this, the regional tourism agencies created in application of article L. 161-1 shall exercise in these regions the powers devolved to the regional tourism committee by articles L. 131-7 and L. 131-8.

Article L161-3

Dans les régions et départements d’outre-mer, le conseil régional et le conseil général peuvent par accord créer un organisme unique qui exerce les compétences dévolues aux comités régionaux du tourisme et aux comités départementaux du tourisme.

A défaut, les agences régionales de tourisme créées en application de l’article L. 161-1 exercent dans ces régions les attributions dévolues au comité régional du tourisme par les articles L. 131-7 et L. 131-8.
