The counterfeiting and falsification of coins and banknotes, as well as the transport, putting into circulation and possession with a view to putting into circulation of counterfeit or falsified coins and banknotes, are punishable under articles 442-1 to 442-15 of the Criminal Code.

Article L162-1

La contrefaçon et la falsification des monnaies et des billets de banque, ainsi que le transport, la mise en circulation et la détention en vue de la mise en circulation de monnaies et de billets contrefaisants ou falsifiés sont réprimés par les articles 442-1 à 442-15 du code pénal.
