Article L212-19 of the French Cinema and Moving Image Code

The creation of a programming group or agreement intended to ensure the programming of cinematographic works in cinematographic entertainment establishments is subject to prior approval by the President of the Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée.

Approval may only be granted to groups or agreements that do not hinder free competition. Approval may not be granted to programming groups or agreements involving two or more operators of cinemas of national importance.

Article L212-19

La constitution d’un groupement ou d’une entente de programmation destiné à assurer la programmation des œuvres cinématographiques dans les établissements de spectacles cinématographiques est subordonnée à la délivrance d’un agrément préalable par le président du Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée.

L’agrément ne peut être délivré qu’à des groupements ou ententes qui ne font pas obstacle au libre jeu de la concurrence. Il ne peut être délivré aux groupements ou ententes de programmation associant deux ou plusieurs exploitants d’établissements de spectacles cinématographiques d’importance nationale.
