Article L213-12 of the French Cinema and Moving Image Code

Notwithstanding articles L. 213-9 to L. 213-11, a minimum remuneration per admission for the licensor is set by joint order of the Minister for Culture and the Minister for the Economy. This remuneration must be set at a level that reconciles the objectives of providing access to the greatest possible number of spectators and maintaining a diversified cinematographic offer.

The minimum remuneration only applies when the remuneration per admission of a licensor, recorded as a weekly average, is lower than the level mentioned in the first paragraph.

Article L213-12

Par dérogation aux articles L. 213-9 à L. 213-11, une rémunération minimale par entrée du concédant est fixée par arrêté conjoint du ministre chargé de la culture et du ministre chargé de l’économie. Cette rémunération doit être fixée à un niveau qui concilie les objectifs d’accès du plus grand nombre de spectateurs et de maintien d’une offre cinématographique diversifiée.

La rémunération minimale ne s’applique que lorsque la rémunération par entrée d’un concédant, constatée en moyenne hebdomadaire, est inférieure au niveau mentionné au premier alinéa.
