Article L221-2 of the French Tourism Code

In order to establish themselves in France, any national of a Member State of the European Union or of a State party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area is deemed to be qualified to conduct guided tours of museums and historic monuments under the conditions laid down in article L. 221-1, provided that he or she produces supporting documents issued by the competent authority of one of these States proving that he or she is qualified in accordance with the recognition conditions laid down by decree of the Conseil d’Etat to practise the profession of guide-interpreter or lecturer in that State.

Pour s’établir en France, est considéré comme qualifié pour la conduite des visites commentées dans les musées et les monuments historiques dans les conditions prévues à l’article L. 221-1 tout ressortissant d’un Etat membre de l’Union européenne ou d’un Etat partie à l’accord sur l’Espace économique européen, dès lors qu’il produit les pièces justificatives émanant de l’autorité compétente d’un de ces Etats prouvant qu’il possède la qualification conforme aux conditions de reconnaissance fixées par décret en Conseil d’Etat pour y exercer la profession de guide-interprète ou de conférencier.
