Article L2241-10 of the French Labour Code

When the national professional minimum wage for employees without qualifications within the meaning of 4° of II of article L. 2261-22 is lower than the interprofessional minimum growth wage, the organisations bound by a branch agreement or, failing that, by professional agreements meet to negotiate on wages.

If the employers fail to take the initiative within forty-five days, negotiations will begin within fifteen days of a request from a representative employee trade union organisation within the meaning of article L. 2231-1.

Lorsque le salaire minimum national professionnel des salariés sans qualification au sens du 4° du II de l’article L. 2261-22 est inférieur au salaire minimum interprofessionnel de croissance, les organisations liées par une convention de branche ou, à défaut, par des accords professionnels se réunissent pour négocier sur les salaires.

A défaut d’initiative de la partie patronale dans les quarante-cinq jours, la négociation s’engage dans les quinze jours suivant la demande d’une organisation syndicale de salariés représentative au sens de l’article L. 2231-1.
