Article L232-3 of the French Consumer Code

Notwithstanding any stipulation to the contrary, the consumer may not be deprived of the protection afforded to him by the provisions adopted by a Member State of the European Union pursuant to Directive 2011/83/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 25 October 2011 on consumer rights, amending Council Directive 93/13/EEC and Directive 1999/44/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council and repealing Council Directive 85/577/EEC and Directive 97/7/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council, where the contract concluded at a distance or off-premises has a close link with the territory of that State.

Nonobstant toute stipulation contraire, le consommateur ne peut être privé de la protection que lui assurent les dispositions prises par un Etat membre de l’Union européenne en application de la directive 2011/83/UE du Parlement européen et du Conseil du 25 octobre 2011 relative aux droits des consommateurs, modifiant la directive 93/13/CEE du Conseil et la directive 1999/44/CE du Parlement européen et du Conseil et abrogeant la directive 85/577/CEE du Conseil et la directive 97/7/CE du Parlement européen et du Conseil, lorsque le contrat conclu à distance ou hors établissement présente un lien étroit avec le territoire de cet Etat.
