When the offer of a credit agreement is accompanied by an insurance proposal, a notice is provided to the borrower on paper or any other durable medium. This notice includes extracts from the general terms and conditions of the insurance concerning him/her, in particular the name and address of the insurer, the duration, the risks covered and those excluded.
If the insurance is required by the lender in order to obtain the finance, the information sheet referred to in article L. 312-12 and the credit agreement offer that the borrower may take out equivalent insurance with the insurer of their choice. If the insurance is optional, the credit agreement offer shall state the terms and conditions under which the borrower may opt out.
