Article L312-71 of the French Consumer Code

The creditor shall provide to, by any means, monthly and within a reasonable time before the payment date, an updated statement of the performance of the revolving credit agreement, making clear reference to the previous statement and specifying:

1° The date on which the statement was drawn up and the date of payment;

>The fraction of capital available

3° The amount of the instalment, including the portion corresponding to interest;

4° The interest rate for the period and the total effective interest rate;

> The total effective interest rate
5° Where applicable, the cost of insurance;

6° The total sums due;

7° The amount of repayments already made since the last renewal, showing the proportion paid in respect of the capital borrowed and the proportion paid in respect of interest and miscellaneous charges relating to the credit transaction;

> The borrower’s option to repay the capital borrowed at a later date;

8° The possibility for the borrower to request, at any time, the reduction of his credit reserve, the suspension of his right to use it or the cancellation of his contract;

9° The fact that the borrower may, at any time, pay in cash all or part of the amount outstanding, without being limited to the amount of the last instalment alone;

This information must appear, in clear print, on the loan application.

Le prêteur fournit à, par tout moyen, mensuellement et dans un délai raisonnable avant la date de paiement, un état actualisé de l’exécution du contrat de crédit renouvelable, faisant clairement référence à l’état précédent et précisant :


1° La date d’arrêté du relevé et la date du paiement ;


2° La fraction du capital disponible ;


3° Le montant de l’échéance, dont la part correspondant aux intérêts ;


4° Le taux de la période et le taux effectif global ;


5° Le cas échéant, le coût de l’assurance ;


6° La totalité des sommes exigibles ;


7° Le montant des remboursements déjà effectués depuis le dernier renouvellement, en faisant ressortir la part respective versée au titre du capital emprunté et celle versée au titre des intérêts et frais divers liés à l’opération de crédit ;


8° La possibilité pour l’emprunteur de demander à tout moment la réduction de sa réserve de crédit, la suspension de son droit à l’utiliser ou la résiliation de son contrat ;


9° Le fait qu’à tout moment l’emprunteur peut payer comptant tout ou partie du montant restant dû, sans se limiter au montant de la seule dernière échéance ;


10° L’estimation du nombre de mensualités restant dues pour parvenir au remboursement intégral du montant effectivement emprunté, établie en fonction des conditions de remboursement convenues.


Ces informations figurent obligatoirement, en caractères lisibles, sur la première page du document adressé à l’emprunteur.
