Article L3254-2 of the French Labour Code

The prohibition set out in Article L. 3254-1 does not apply in the following cases:

1° Where the contract of employment stipulates that the employee who is provided with board and lodging shall also receive a fixed salary in money;

2° Where, for the performance of an employment contract, the employer transfers supplies to the employee at cost price.

L’interdiction prévue à l’article L. 3254-1 ne vise pas les cas suivants :

1° Lorsque le contrat de travail stipule que le salarié logé et nourri reçoit en outre un salaire déterminé en argent ;

2° Lorsque, pour l’exécution d’un contrat de travail, l’employeur cède au salarié des fournitures à prix coûtant.
