Article L334-1 of the French Sports Code

As a tribute to the victims of the national tragedy that occurred during the French Cup match played at the Armand-Cesari stadium in Furiani on 5 May 1992, no match or sporting event organised as part of or in conjunction with the French professional first and second division football championships, the French Football Cup or the Champions Trophy will be played on 5 May. At all matches or sporting events between amateur and professional clubs, excluding those mentioned in the first sentence of this paragraph, organised by the French Football Federation, a minute’s silence is observed.

Every 5 May, during official football matches in amateur leagues, each player of both teams and the members of the refereeing body wear a black armband.

En hommage aux victimes du drame national survenu en marge de la rencontre de Coupe de France disputée au stade Armand-Cesari de Furiani le 5 mai 1992, aucune rencontre ou manifestation sportive organisée dans le cadre ou en marge des championnats de France professionnels de football de première et deuxième divisions, de la Coupe de France de football et du Trophée des Champions n’est jouée à la date du 5 mai. Lors de toutes les rencontres ou manifestations sportives entre clubs amateurs et professionnels, à l’exclusion de celles mentionnées à la première phrase du présent alinéa, organisées par la Fédération française de football, une minute de silence est observée.


Tous les 5 mai, lors des matchs de football officiels des championnats amateurs, chaque joueur des deux équipes et les membres du corps arbitral portent un brassard noir.
