Article L341-40 of the French Consumer Code

It is an offence for the lender to cause the borrower or the declared guarantors to subscribe to, or to receive from them, acceptance of the offer without the offer bearing a date or in the event that it bears a false date such as to lead to the belief that it was given after expiry of the ten-day period prescribed in Article L. 313-34, is punishable by a fine of 300,000 euros.

Le fait pour le prêteur de faire souscrire par l’emprunteur ou les cautions déclarées ou de recevoir de leur part l’acceptation de l’offre sans que celle-ci comporte de date ou dans le cas où elle comporte une date fausse de nature à faire croire qu’elle a été donnée après expiration du délai de dix jours prescrit à l’article L. 313-34, est puni d’une amende de 300 000 euros.
