Article L342-7 of the French Tourism Code

The term “ski lifts” refers to all public transport equipment for persons by rack railway, by cableway installation falling within the scope of Regulation (EU) 2016/424 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 9 March 2016 on cableway installations and repealing Directive 2000/9/EC, as well as cableway installations used to service mountain refuges referred to in Article 2(2)(d) of the same Regulation.

Sont dénommés ” remontées mécaniques ” tous les appareils de transports publics de personnes par chemin de fer à crémaillère, par installation à câbles relevant du règlement (UE) 2016/424 du Parlement européen et du Conseil du 9 mars 2016 relatif aux installations à câbles et abrogeant la directive 2000/9/ CE, ainsi que les installations à câbles utilisées pour le service des refuges de montagne mentionnées au d du paragraphe 2 de l’article 2 du même règlement.
