Article L343-9 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

If the foreign national’s departure cannot be effected from the station, port or airport on which the waiting area in which he or she is placed or held depends, he or she may be transferred to any waiting area of a station, port or airport from which his or her departure can actually take place.
If necessary, the foreign national may also be transferred to a waiting area in which the conditions required for his or her placement or holding, provided for in this Title, are met.

Article L343-9

Si le départ de l’étranger ne peut être réalisé à partir de la gare, du port ou de l’aéroport dont dépend la zone d’attente dans laquelle il est placé ou maintenu, il peut être transféré vers toute zone d’attente d’une gare, d’un port ou d’un aéroport à partir desquels son départ peut effectivement avoir lieu.
En cas de nécessité, l’étranger peut également être transféré dans une zone d’attente dans laquelle les conditions requises pour son placement ou son maintien, prévues au présent titre, sont réunies.
