Article L3632-3 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

The maximum allowances voted by the metropolitan council for the effective exercise of the mandate of metropolitan councillor are determined by applying the maximum rate of 70% to the reference term mentioned in Article L. 3632-1.

The Metropolitan Council may, under conditions set by its internal regulations, reduce the amount of the allowances it allocates to its members according to their attendance at plenary sessions, meetings of commissions of which they are members and meetings of bodies in which they represent the Metropolitan Council, without this reduction exceeding, for each of them, half of the maximum allowance that may be allocated to them in application of this article.

Les indemnités maximales votées par le conseil de la métropole pour l’exercice effectif du mandat de conseiller métropolitain sont déterminées en appliquant au terme de référence mentionné à l’article L. 3632-1 le taux maximal de 70 %.

Le conseil de la métropole peut, dans des conditions fixées par son règlement intérieur, réduire le montant des indemnités qu’il alloue à ses membres en fonction de leur participation aux séances plénières, aux réunions des commissions dont ils sont membres et aux réunions des organismes dans lesquels ils représentent la métropole, sans que cette réduction puisse dépasser, pour chacun d’entre eux, la moitié de l’indemnité maximale pouvant lui être attribuée en application du présent article.
