Article L441-1 of the French Consumer Code

It is forbidden for any person, whether a party to the contract or not, to deceive or attempt to deceive the contracting party, by any means or process whatsoever, even through the intermediary of a third party:
1° either on the nature, species, origin, substantial qualities, composition or content in useful principles of any goods;
2° either on the quantity of the goods delivered or on their identity by the delivery of goods other than the specific goods which were the subject of the contract;
3° or on the fitness for use, the risks inherent in the use of the product, the tests carried out, the instructions for use or the precautions to be taken.
The provisions of this article also apply to the provision of services.

Article L441-1

Il est interdit pour toute personne, partie ou non au contrat, de tromper ou tenter de tromper le contractant, par quelque moyen ou procédé que ce soit, même par l’intermédiaire d’un tiers :
1° Soit sur la nature, l’espèce, l’origine, les qualités substantielles, la composition ou la teneur en principes utiles de toutes marchandises ;
2° Soit sur la quantité des choses livrées ou sur leur identité par la livraison d’une marchandise autre que la chose déterminée qui a fait l’objet du contrat ;
3° Soit sur l’aptitude à l’emploi, les risques inhérents à l’utilisation du produit, les contrôles effectués, les modes d’emploi ou les précautions à prendre.
Les dispositions du présent article sont également applicables aux prestations de services.
