Article L512-26 of the French Consumer Code

Pending the results of the necessary checks, authorised agents may consign:

1° Products likely to be adulterated, corrupted or toxic;

2° Products likely to be unfit for consumption, with the exception of products of animal origin, foodstuffs containing them and animal feedstuffs of animal origin or containing products of animal origin whose unfit for consumption can only be recognised on the basis of abnormal organoleptic characteristics or signs of lesional pathology ;

3° Products, objects or appliances likely to be non-compliant with the laws and regulations in force and to present a danger to the health or safety of consumers;

4° Products likely to be presented under an infringing trademark, collective trademark or guarantee mark.

Dans l’attente des résultats des contrôles nécessaires, les agents habilités peuvent consigner :

1° Les produits susceptibles d’être falsifiés, corrompus ou toxiques ;

2° Les produits susceptibles d’être impropres à la consommation, à l’exception des produits d’origine animale, des denrées alimentaires en contenant ainsi que des aliments pour animaux d’origine animale ou contenant des produits d’origine animale dont l’impropriété à la consommation ne peut être reconnue qu’en fonction de caractères organoleptiques anormaux ou de signes de pathologie lésionnelle ;

3° Les produits, objets ou appareils susceptibles d’être non conformes aux lois et règlements en vigueur et de présenter un danger pour la santé ou la sécurité des consommateurs ;

4° Les produits susceptibles d’être présentés sous une marque, une marque collective ou une marque de garantie contrefaisantes.
