It is prohibited to publish in a newspaper, magazine or periodical or to disseminate by any other means of communication accessible to the public an insertion of job offers or offers of home-based work containing a text written in a foreign language.
Where the job or work offered can only be described by a foreign term with no French equivalent, the French text must include a sufficiently detailed description so as not to be misleading within the meaning of Article L. 5331-3.
These requirements apply to services to be performed on French territory, regardless of the nationality of the person making the offer or the employer, and to services to be performed outside French territory when the person making the offer or the employer is French, even if perfect knowledge of a foreign language would be one of the conditions required to hold the job offered.
However, directors of publications and persons responsible for means of communication using, in whole or in part, a foreign language may, in France, receive offers of employment drawn up in that language.
