Article L5421-14 of the French Public Health Code

Anyone found to be in possession of falsified medicinal products without a legitimate reason is liable to three years’ imprisonment and a fine of €75,000.

If the falsified medicinal product is dangerous to human health, the penalties are increased to five years’ imprisonment and a fine of €375,000.

Sont punis de trois ans d’emprisonnement et de 75 000 € d’amende ceux qui, sans motif légitime, sont trouvés détenteurs de médicaments falsifiés.

Lorsque le médicament falsifié est dangereux pour la santé de l’homme, les peines sont portées à cinq ans d’emprisonnement et à 375 000 € d’amende.
