Article L561-3 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

Family reunification is refused:
1° To a family member whose presence in France would constitute a threat to public order or where it is established that he or she is an instigator, perpetrator or accomplice of the persecution and serious harm which justified the granting of asylum protection;
2° To an applicant or family member who does not comply with the essential principles which, in accordance with the laws of the Republic, govern family life in France, the host country.

La réunification familiale est refusée :
1° Au membre de la famille dont la présence en France constituerait une menace pour l’ordre public ou lorsqu’il est établi qu’il est instigateur, auteur ou complice des persécutions et atteintes graves qui ont justifié l’octroi d’une protection au titre de l’asile ;
2° Au demandeur ou au membre de la famille qui ne se conforme pas aux principes essentiels qui, conformément aux lois de la République, régissent la vie familiale en France, pays d’accueil.
