Article L6141-4 of the French Public Health Code

The regional hospital centres defined in article L. 6141-2 may include a unit responsible for providing specialist advice and opinions on the diagnosis, prognosis, treatment and, where appropriate, prevention of human poisoning, known as an anti-poison centre.

Poison control centres participate in emergency medical assistance as defined in article L. 6311-1.

They provide support for surveillance systems.

The national list of regional hospital centres with a poison control centre is set by order of the Minister for Health.

Their tasks and related resources are set by decree.

Les centres hospitaliers régionaux définis à l’article L. 6141-2 peuvent comporter une unité chargée de donner avis et conseils spécialisés en matière de diagnostic, pronostic, traitement et éventuellement prévention des intoxications humaines, dénommée centre antipoison.

Les centres antipoison participent à l’aide médicale urgente telle qu’elle est définie à l’article L. 6311-1.

Ils apportent leur concours aux systèmes de vigilance.

La liste nationale des centres hospitaliers régionaux comportant un centre antipoison est fixée par arrêté du ministre chargé de la santé.

Leurs missions et les moyens y afférents sont fixés par décret.
