Article L622-6 of the French Intellectual Property Code

The prohibition provided for in the preceding article shall take effect on the date of filing or the date of first commercial exploitation if earlier. It shall vest in the owner of the registration until the end of the tenth calendar year thereafter.

However, any registration concerning a topography which has not been exploited within a period of fifteen years from the date on which it was first fixed or coded shall become ineffective.

Article L622-6

L’interdiction prévue à l’article précédent prend effet au jour du dépôt ou de la date de la première exploitation commerciale si elle est antérieure. Elle est acquise au titulaire de l’enregistrement jusqu’au terme de la dixième année civile qui suit.

Toutefois, devient sans effet tout enregistrement concernant une topographie qui n’a fait l’objet d’aucune exploitation dans un délai de quinze ans à compter de la date à laquelle elle a été fixée ou codée pour la première fois.
