The professionalisation contract combines general, vocational and technological teaching provided by public or private training bodies or, where the company has a training department, by the company, with the acquisition of know-how through the performance in the company of one or more professional activities related to the qualifications sought.

The professionalisation contract may include periods of acquiring know-how in several companies. To this end, an agreement is signed between the employer, the host companies and the employee on the professionalisation contract. The hosting arrangements and the content of the agreement are laid down by decree.
