Article L7123-2-1 of the French Labour Code

To work as a model, a medical certificate must be issued. This certificate attests that the overall assessment of the model’s state of health, assessed in particular with regard to their body mass index, is compatible with the exercise of their profession.

An order by the Ministers of Health and Employment, issued after consultation with the Haute Autorité de santé, defines the terms and conditions for the application of the first paragraph.

Article L7123-2-1

L’exercice de l’activité de mannequin est conditionné à la délivrance d’un certificat médical. Ce certificat atteste que l’évaluation globale de l’état de santé du mannequin, évalué notamment au regard de son indice de masse corporelle, est compatible avec l’exercice de son métier.

Un arrêté des ministres chargés de la santé et du travail, pris après avis de la Haute Autorité de santé, définit les modalités d’application du premier alinéa.
