Article L722-8 of the French Monetary and Financial Code

The obligation to declare and the obligation to disclose referred to in Articles L. 722-6 and L. 722-7 are not deemed to have been fulfilled if the information provided is incorrect or incomplete or if the cash is not made available to the customs authorities at their request during a transport inspection. The same applies if the disclosure declaration is not drawn up within the applicable time limit.
The obligations mentioned in the first paragraph are also deemed not to have been fulfilled if declarations relating to cash in an amount equal to or greater than €50,000 or 5,966,500 CFP francs are not accompanied by the documents required to prove its origin.
A decree sets out the list of these documents and the procedures for their transmission.

L’obligation de déclaration et l’obligation de divulgation mentionnées aux articles L. 722-6 et L. 722-7 ne sont pas réputées exécutées si les informations fournies sont incorrectes ou incomplètes ou si l’argent liquide n’est pas mis à la disposition de l’administration des douanes à sa demande, à l’occasion d’un contrôle lors d’un transport. Il en va de même lorsque la déclaration de divulgation n’est pas établie dans le délai applicable.
Les obligations mentionnées au premier alinéa sont également considérées comme non exécutées si les déclarations portant sur de l’argent liquide d’un montant égal ou supérieur à 50 000 € ou à 5 966 500 francs CFP ne sont pas accompagnées des documents dont la production permet de justifier de sa provenance.
Un décret fixe la liste de ces documents et leurs modalités de transmission.
