Article L7222-5 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

In the event of the dissolution of the Martinique Assembly, the resignation of all the sitting councillors or the definitive annulment of the election of all the councillors, the President of the Executive Council is responsible for current affairs. His decisions are enforceable only with the agreement of the representative of the State in the territorial collectivity. The Martinique Assembly is re-elected within two months. The Assembly shall meet as of right on the first Friday following its election.

The representative of the State in the territorial collectivity shall convene each elected councillor for the first meeting, for which he shall set the time and place.

En cas de dissolution de l’assemblée de Martinique, de démission de tous les conseillers en exercice ou d’annulation devenue définitive de l’élection de tous les conseillers, le président du conseil exécutif est chargé de l’expédition des affaires courantes. Ses décisions ne sont exécutoires qu’avec l’accord du représentant de l’Etat dans la collectivité territoriale. Il est procédé à la réélection de l’assemblée de Martinique dans un délai de deux mois. L’assemblée se réunit de plein droit le premier vendredi qui suit son élection.

Le représentant de l’Etat dans la collectivité territoriale convoque chaque conseiller élu pour la première réunion, dont il fixe l’heure et le lieu.
