Article L7226-8 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

The members of the council receive, for the actual performance of their duties, an allowance set by the Martinique Assembly within the limit of a monthly ceiling determined by reference to the maximum allowances provided for councillors to the Martinique Assembly in the articles L. 7227-19 et L. 7227-20. This allowance varies according to the attendance of members at meetings of the council or its formations and their participation in its work.

A decree in the Council of State defines the terms and conditions for the application of the first paragraph of this article.

They are also entitled to reimbursement of additional expenses that may arise from the exercise of special mandates entrusted to them by their council, under the conditions set out in the third and fourth paragraphs of article L. 7227-23.

Article L7226-8

Les membres du conseil perçoivent, pour l’exercice effectif de leurs fonctions, une indemnité fixée par l’assemblée de Martinique dans la limite d’un plafond mensuel déterminé par référence aux indemnités maximales prévues pour les conseillers à l’assemblée de Martinique aux articles L. 7227-19 et L. 7227-20. Cette indemnité varie en fonction de la présence des membres aux réunions du conseil ou de ses formations et de leur participation à ses travaux.

Un décret en Conseil d’Etat définit les modalités d’application du premier alinéa du présent article.

Ils ont en outre droit au remboursement des frais supplémentaires pouvant résulter de l’exercice des mandats spéciaux dont ils sont chargés par leur conseil, dans les conditions prévues aux troisième et quatrième alinéas de l’article L. 7227-23.
