Article L733-11 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

Visiting operations are carried out under the supervision of the magistrate who authorised them, who may visit the premises to ensure compliance with the legal provisions. These operations may not be started before 6 am or after 9 pm. They may not, on pain of nullity, have any purpose other than the enforcement of the removal order referred to in the decision of the liberty and custody judge.
A report shall be drawn up stating the dates and times of the start and end of the operations and the conditions under which they were carried out. This report shall be signed by the foreign national or, failing this, by the occupant of the premises; in the event of refusal, mention shall be made of the refusal and the reasons stated. The report is forwarded to the liberty and detention judge, with a copy given to the foreign national or, failing this, to the occupant of the premises.

Les opérations de visite sont effectuées sous le contrôle du magistrat qui les a autorisées, qui peut se déplacer sur les lieux pour veiller au respect des dispositions légales. Ces opérations ne peuvent être commencées avant 6 heures ni après 21 heures. Elles ne peuvent, à peine de nullité, avoir un autre objet que l’exécution de la décision d’éloignement visée dans la décision du juge des libertés et de la détention.
Il est dressé un procès-verbal mentionnant les dates et heures de début et de fin des opérations et les conditions de leur déroulement. Ce procès-verbal est présenté à la signature de l’étranger ou, à défaut, de l’occupant des lieux ; en cas de refus, mention est faite de ce refus et de ses motifs déclarés. Le procès-verbal est transmis au juge des libertés et de la détention, copie en ayant été remise à l’étranger ou, à défaut, à l’occupant des lieux.
