Article R1333-11 of the French Public Health Code

I.-For the application of the limitation principle defined in 3° of Article L. 1333-2, the effective dose limit for exposure of the general public to ionising radiation resulting from all nuclear activities is set at 1 mSv per year, with the exception of the specific cases mentioned in Article R. 1333-12.

II – The equivalent dose limit is set for :

1° The crystalline lens: 15 mSv per year ;

2° The skin: 50 mSv per year as an average value for any surface area of 1 cm2 of skin, whatever the exposed surface area.

I.-Pour l’application du principe de limitation défini au 3° de l’article L. 1333-2, la limite de dose efficace pour l’exposition de la population à des rayonnements ionisants résultant de l’ensemble des activités nucléaires est fixée à 1 mSv par an, à l’exception des cas particuliers mentionnés à l’article R. 1333-12.

II.-La limite de dose équivalente est fixée pour :

1° Le cristallin à 15 mSv par an ;

2° La peau à 50 mSv par an en valeur moyenne pour toute surface de 1 cm2 de peau, quelle que soit la surface exposée.
